You might try copying one from another system with a similar O/S. However I have Win2k and my boot.ini only has 6 lines in it. Mostly has to do with O/S and hard drive info. I don't see how this would affect your email and printer.

My boot.ini file

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="Microso ft Windows 2000 Professional" /fastdetect

boot.ini has nothing to do with printing or sending e-mail. If it's bad, then you cannot boot your copy of Windows.

If you have Windows 2000, and it's installed on your first hard drive, then elroy's file should work fine. The boot.ini is just a plain text file.

If you have Windows XP, you can boot into the recovery console and use bootcfg to rebuild you boot.ini file.
