| Boot with secondary master
My IDE 0 (Primary Master) doesn't work, therefore I installed my Hard disk on the IDE 1 (Secondary Master) Everytime I boot I get the message "Primary hard drive failed" then I press F1 and boot with Win XP on Secondary Master
Is there any way to boot directly with the secondary master (without having a hard drive on Primary master) and not having to press F1
Thanks |

Well, since the other hard drive doesn't work, and it still has a warranty, you could replace it.
Or, with no warranty, and no important info. on it, you could simply remove it. |

I don't know how to disable it in the BIOS. Any information?
Reather,
It's not the hard drive that's not working, it's the IDE 0 connection on the mother board |

Why not get a Controller card for the other hard drive then?
You can make the change under the boot device section. Just make the other hard disk have priority. |

Read this article from Tom's Hardware http://www.tomshardware.com/2005/09/...for_beginners/
You'll need to set Primary Master and Primary Slave to Disabled if that IDE controller is bad. Then it should boot to the Secondary Master.
Yea, like Reather said you can get a PCI ATA133 controller card for $15 shipped. Then you could run 2 drives on your Secondery IDE controller and up to 4 more drives on the controller card.
