cd drive not showing up in my computer
ok, the problem is the computer doesnt seem to recognize the cd drive. first thing i did was reinstall the chipset drivers, nothing, then i looked in device manager and for some reason the cd drive is listed but there is a yellow sign w/ an exclamation point on it. so i figured id try another cd rom. still get the same issue. tried using a different ide cable, no luck. even tried using a new motherboard and still the same problem.. im stumped on this one... only other thing i can think of is that somehow something got messed up in windows and i need a fresh install... any ideas before i wipe the hdd?

I had this issue once and i fix it using the patch. It's call cdgone and you merge the patch in the registry.
