Dell Latitude C640 won't turn on at all >_<
K, so I recently purchased a Dell Latirude C640 from ebay.
I turned it on and it lasted for-at most-2 minutes, then it shut off without a warning.
I tried unplugging the AC/Adapter, etc; it didn't work. It will not turn back on.
I don't know laptops as much as I do desktops, unfortunately, so my brain is dead >_<
If anyone could offer some help, please do

Not much to go on, huh? Well, here's the Dell™ Latitude™ C540/C640 Service Manual.
Let me suggest the following approach:
1. Remove the ac adapter and the battery for two minutes then reconnect the ac adapter and try powering the system up.
2. Remove the ac adapter, the battery, and the harddrive then put the harddrive back in and try it on ac power only.
3. Try starting the system without the harddrive in the system.
4. Remove hardware components one at a time and see if the system will start after that.
Sounds like a fun weekend project.

K, so I opened it up and checked out the parts. It turned on without the hardrive (for a few seconds) and without and battery (for a few seconds).
I think the AC/Adapter is the problem. Possibly it's not charging the battery and it's not giving any power to the laptop when it's hooked up.

Well, there are lots of these around (A/C adapters that will fit this system). See if you can borrow one and test your theory.

Went to Bits and PCs Club and they ran a diagnostic.
Damaged Hardrive >_<

Well, that's a relatively cheap fix. Good to hear.
