RAM CARDS AND WINDOWS INSTALL :)

looking to buy a 1GB or 500 MB RAM CARD and I need to know what kind I should buy.

My system in P3 has 512 RAM So far and I am getting a 5500 FX PCI gfx card for it. I need to know what kind of RAM i should get so I dont lag in games.

Also does it matter when I get a new RAM card if it is better than my other RAM card. Will it effect gameplay if my first slot RAM is the stock one that came with the PC and my second slot is a 1 GB or 500 MB RAM card with alot better stats on it?

PS- How do you do a clean install of windows because I dont feel like paying 100$ for the shop to do it. THanks

Get the 6200. 1 Gig will cost you 100 plus dollars, so i'd get 512 for the time being, and since you need DDR 266, here's a link:

just a side note, Zipzoomfly no longer ships to canada, so u could try purchasing from tigerdirect.ca since u live in canada, ive ordered from them myself and thus far no problems

Were dose it say he has DDR 226? P3 also had SD RAM.

What motherboard do you have Twisterman ? Brand and model number.
If you mix 2 speeds of RAM, it will run @ the speed of the slower RAM.
What operating system for a clean install.
System RAM won't solve lag in games very much if at all.

He had a couple threads yesterday. He doesn't know who manufactured it, but his chipset is an Intel D845GLAD if I remember correctly. The AD ending means that it requires DDR 266 instead of 133 SDRAM. I've got all the documentation from yesterday up on his motherboards. His processor is a Pentium 4 based Celeron at 1.7 GHz. I hope that helps.

Now I am confused, he thinks he has a P3. I'll check that number out.

But then again, if you get DDR 400 RAM, then it would be better for overclocking. The system will underclock it to 266 speeds, and then you can overclock it to 400. Just an idea.
But that's how it goes right?

Some Intel boards will overclock pretty well, but it has to be done with the front side buss.
