| Can't Play Copy Protected DVDs
I've looked everywhere for an answer to this question, but can't seem to find one. I am unable to play any DVDs that have copy protection on my PC. I am running Windows XP, and have Media Player and ASUS DVD installed. I had no problem playing DVDs up until about two weeks ago. It stopped about the same time as I installed Ulead VideoStudio, so I'm assuming it's the cause. I've since removed it, but still can't play CP DVDs. I've also tried reinstalling both Media Player and ASUS DVD, but with no success. I should note that regular DVDs and copy protected game DVDs work fine, it's only the CP movies that I'm having problems with. Any help you can provide would be great. Thanks. |

Tried the file cleaner, but I'm still having the same problem. I experimented some more, and found that the problem occurs not just on copy protected DVDs, but on any MPEG2 files. Is it possible that my MPEG2 codec is corrupted, and, if so, where can I download a new one? (I've already tried reinstalling Windows Media Player). Thanks. |

Tried uninstalling/reinstalling your DVD player? That should take care of any codec issue. |

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling both WMP and my dvd player. When I use WMP, I get a message saying it "encountered a problem and needs to close". With the DVD player, it just closes itself. |
