Zen Nano LCD problems

Hey all, I just recently picked up a Zen Nano 512mb mp3 player.

Here lies the problem, it functions fine, music is good, I can transfer fine, volume works fine, setting works, everything is A-ok...

BUT, after a while or sometimes just randomly, the LCD will go completely blank, the functions still work, but I simply cannot see them, and that's obviously not doing me any good. I looked in the manual and on some FAQ's for answers but nothing came up.

I tried various settings to see if the "idle" shutoff was doing it, so I set it for various times such as 2 minutes of listening to music, didn't shut off the lcd, etc. Well I would assume that would mean it wasn't playing music and it shut off. Got to try that anyways...

So basically I have seen no reason for it to be doing this...has anyone heard of similar problems? I just got it yesterday so I could return, but I really don't want to go through the hassle if there is a way to resolve the issue.

I would return it just because it shouldnt be doing that, i searched a quick bit on google and didnt really come up with anything that relates to the screen going out, so i think it might just be a faulty device. Ive bought the en nano 1gb for a friend (i used it before i gave it to him) and never ran into such a problem.

So your best bet, IMO, would be to take it back and try your luck again, yes its a pain to reload the songs and take the time out of your day to do it, but think you'll be happy with it

Well, I ended up returning it. I ended up picking the Nano plus 1gb up for only 20bucks more. It gives me double the space, a case, a wristband to hold it if wanted, fm tuner, and other accesories that I didn't know it had. Well worth it. Besides, instead of Dark Blue, I have the black one i've wanted
