Yet another BAD_POOL_CALLER thread

Hello,
I have recently had problems concerning my PC as it's mysteriously reboots itself out of nowhere for no reason.

I made it where it would make a Blue screen if it happened and I noticed the code it gave me:

0x000000C2 (0x00000007, 0v00000CD4, 0x024C0005, 0x883CDB30)

I'm unsure what this would mean but im assuming it might be a driver. Would anyone be able to help decypher this for me?

Thank you for your time to read this.

It's a software/driver related problem. did you install anything or updated any device drivers or did a ms update recently? if not, maybe updating the drivers might help. i've done a lot of searching and there is no paticular remedy for this. also, what are you doing when this occurs? are you playing any games or running any certain program when this happens?

It happens almost everytime I use Youtube I noticed so far. I'm up to date on my drivers using MS update.

I have an answer for you!

My goodness, I think I've found the answer! Well, an answer.

I was having the same problem. My system kept locking up when doing things such as Flash, YouTube, ReaPlayer. I combed forums and made a huge list of what it could be. It would either lock up or reboot.

I have an Athlon XP 2100+ with 1 gig of RAM on a Gigabyte GA-7ZXE running XpPro (no Service Pack).

Making a long story short, I kept racking my brain to think of the commonalities of these tasks. Then it hit me - CPU activity. Was my CPU getting too hot?

I downloaded Motherboard Monitor and it seemed that it would lock up or reboot when hitting 74 degrees C. Without doing anything, it was hovering around 71 (roughly 160 degrees F). My CPU would get hotter when performing the aforementioned activities.

My CPU fan was functioning but it was very dusty and, silly me, I never used any thermal paste.

I went out and bought a Vantec Aeroflow 2 (VA4-7245) that came with thermal paste. I applied the paste and new fan/heatsink combo, booted up my system, and the temp was now down to ***36 C***

Running YouTube or RealPlayer would bring it up to 45 but nowhere near the danger zone. I've running videos and RealPlayer for the past half hour with no problems!

So, check your CPU temp!!!!

definitely noted. Yeh it's hard to keep my system cool even with 5 fans and an alluminum case.

But I don't believe it's a heat issue though. the air comes out pretty decent for me.

I recently updated my Sound Card Driver (Audigy X-gamer) and haven't had a blue screen thus far. I'm assuming I had an issue with that considering I have an onboard sound card as well, though I keep disabling it.

But I will definitely keep the heat in check as well.
