weatherproofing webcam

Hello,

I want to put an old webcam outside my home just for fun. It will live under a wood overhang and be shielded from the weather to a moderate degree. Any ideas on additional weatherproofing? Also I'm planning on cutting the USB connection off the camera wire and splicing it back on so I can run it through an existing hole through the wall.
