HELP NTLDR IS COMPRESSED

Help me please. i install the os recovery cd then after the installation it ask to be restarted. it didnt load the os. i got an error ntldrcompressed.
read some thread here on how to fix it. i got it i need to type attrib -c but my problem is i couldnt get a command prompt to type in the attrib.
i have a gateway mx3230. please help....

make sure nothing is in cd/floppy drive

set BIOS default

use OS cd to get into command prompt
