Don't see SATA Drives in Explorer

Hi,

I have rebuilt a machine using an MSI K9N Neo Mobo and an AMD CPU.

I have installed the operating system and can see the SATA Drive that the OS is on and the DVD Drives which are on the IDE Connection in explorer.

There are two other SATA Drives in the machine that show up in device manager but are not visible in explorer.

How can I make these visible in Explorer?

The OS is Win XP Pro SP 2.

Thanks in advance.

Have you formatted the drives? Explorer won't see the drives until they are formatted.

These drives are formatted and each is approx 50% full. I had a CPU failure yesterday and changed the Mobo and CPU I didn't realise when loading XP that the F Keys were not active so it didn't load the raid drivers.

I am currently trying to load them at the moment without having to reinstall everything again

EDIT: I can see the drives in the BIOS, They are also detected at boot they just don't show up in Explorer. I have tried to find them from a command prompt with no luck. It is as though there is some sort of setting keepng these two drives "hidden".

If anyone can help me out with this I would be very appreciative.

Hi,

An hour or so spent googling this problem came up with a workaround.

The drives could be seen in Device Manager and the BIOS as stated above. They could also be seen under Admin Tools/Computer Management/Storage/Disk Management.

The SATA Drives were shown as "foreign" drives. There was a menu available when Rt Clicking one of these to "Import Foreign Drives".

It is now up and running, With 3 x 200GB SATA Drives, 2 x 200 Gb PATA Drives and two DVD Burners.
