Hi all who read this.
Ok i am at my wit's end with my comp and i think i need an outside view on thing's.
My problem is this, i keep either getting blue screen of death with different error messages each time. or the comp just freeze's up on me, or it will simply reboot itself, i get a lot of VPU recovery messages, which i find odd because i replaced my old graph card wi th a new one about 2 week's ago and it's still happening!!. i have run the microsoft RAM checker utility that comes back as everything is fine and working normaly.
my system specs are this.
3.2 AMD Athlon pro.
Abit NF7-2.0 Motherboard.
2 Gig RAM Crucial.
Western Digital 120 gig HD.
Soundblaster audigy zs 5.1.
A USB 2.0 card.
Window's XP home Edition.
HIS X1650 PRO 512 AGP graphics card.
and a 300 wt psu. <---- this maybe the problem, but before i go slashing my cash out on a new psu i would like some addvice as to wether lack of power can cause the above comp trouble's or is it something esle. something i am weary off is the fact when i first built this comp i would just stick in my XP home disc and format everything was fine then for the past 4 times i have reformatted i get the windows message asking me wether i wish to install this software as it has not passed the windows thingy???.(thingy not being the excat term lol but i cant remember what the rest said.) i have reformatted with it as yes and no but still the same prob's. if anyone can help it would be much apreciated. |

I have question did you overclock AMD athon? try low overclock try 2.8 GHz but 3.2 GHz sound too much work.
Plus my guess hard driver is go bad soon. It happen to me when hard driver won't format because it dead.
You can RMA hard driver if it still in warranty.

Thx for the reply. no my system is not or has ever been overclocked. even though the AMD pro is a 3.2 it is actualy only running at 2.2 GHz. hard drive does seem to be ok it has no bad sectors the disccheck comes up as fine. im just confused ive built quite a few systems for friends the oldest one being 3 year's now and iv'e only had to reformat that one 4 times in its 3 years. but my own system is nothing but a pain in the neck |

Any of the issues you listed, can be caused by a flaky power supply...
What brand is it, and what is the Amperage on the +12V rail? |

There is no such thing as an Athlon that runs at a default speed of 3.2GHz, are you sure you don't mean 3200+?
