Could any one please advise me, I have built a computer with with an ASrock k8upgrade-nf3 Motherboard i have fitted a Sempron 2.8 CPU and i need to know what setting the jumpers should be on the Motherboard.
There is nothing mentioned in the Motherboard manual, and i cant find the info through Google.
Thanks in advance, Fagin. |

It appears your Sempron will start and auto detect the correct speed with the default settings.
You only need to change the jumpers if you install and add-on CPU board in the yellow tabs. You can add a board later for either a socket 939 or socket AM2 if you decide to upgrad processors.
On page 13 of your manual, a daigram show the jumper settings (default) and how to change them if you upgrade your processor to socket 939 later.
Semprons come in socket 754 and AM2. What is the model number of your processor?
see attachment for the correct settings, or page 13 of your manual.
Page 8 shows the location/orientation of the CPU jumpers, number 31 in the diagram.

Sorry for the late response.
The jumpers are already set for the socket 754 processor, so yes, it should run at the correct speed automatically.
You would only need to change them if you add another board, and replace the processor with a newer socket 939 or socket AM2 processor.
Is this a new build? do you have the motherboard manual? |
