¿ .Net Framework ISSUES ?

yet again for the UMPtith time, .net framework is giving me problems. my home system is 1 user, no pw. In order to install Sony Soundforge it told me i need .net 1.1 plus the update. I installed .net 2 because i was scared to install 1.1. (reason will be written below) I tried installing soundforge again and it told me i needed 1.1

so i uninstall .net 2 & install the dreaded .net 1.1 plus update. So now when i turn my system on i have to select which user... even thought there is only ONE. I have having to babysit my pc during a power up. Thats precious time for me to brush my teeth or get the food. So i uninstalled .net 1.1 and it's hotfix update. Now when i restart i still have to choose which user i want to use. When i look into "user accounts" asp.net is still there. When i go to "add/remove program" .net is NOT there. That is where I uninstalled from it by the way.

My questions.
1) For future reference How do i install .net and NOT have to pick a user on a 1 user machine??? On .net 1.1 the update is supposed to fix that, i know but has only worked for me 2 times, years ago.

2) what can i do right now since i've already uninstalled .net 1.1 ???

3) I HATE .net. I dont know what it does, is it even useful for people?

1) You can have windows auto log you on: http://www.google.com/search?client=...utf-8&oe=utf-8

2) If the program needs 1.1, 2.0 will NOT satisfy that. You will need to install 1.1

3) .Net Runtime plays the same role as the java virtual machine.

I had a similar problem with an HP printer: (this is an exerpt from HP tech support.)

The issue seems with the software conflict between the HP PhotoSmart
8250 printer software drivers and Net Framework.

To isolate the issue with the HP PhotoSmart 8250 printer, I suggest you
to follow the steps below in the weblink and get back to us with the
result.

MSXML 4.0 Service Pack 2 (Microsoft XML Core Services):

NOTE: Clicking the link may give an error indicating it is
invalid. If this occurs, copy the portion of the address

Once you access the web link and you scroll down to the bottom of the
page, you will find an option of "Files In This Download". Under that
you have five files.
Download all the five files and install only the first file. That first
file will be msxml.msi
After downloading all these files, double-click msxml.msi file for the
installation to start. After updating MSXML files, restart the system
and then install the software from the installation CD. Additionally,
please to cancel the auto-installation wizard and then Browse the CD and
execute the setup file.

I followed these instructions, and it fixed it. BTW, I have XP Pro SP2, also
