Hi everyone,
Anyway i have a pretty old WD 250gb sata hdd. I came home from Australia Day celebrations to an NTLDR error. Long story short it wasn't windows but my HDD. I went into the BIOS and it wasn't even being detected, so i tried a different sata port, still no go, tried a different sata cable still no go. So i tried it on a different computer altogether, STILL broken.
So is there anything else i can check on this hdd before i throw it in the trash?
Also my CPU has been running obscenely hot lately i'm talking high 60's. I obviously have a CPU fan but it is just a stoko Intel fan. I checked my thermal grease and it is a bit thin, but i don't know what kind of coverage is expected. I was just going to go out and buy a new Zalman 9700LED for it and squirt on new thermal paste while i am at it. And pick up a new HDD (seagate).
Any words of advice or whatever else?
Thanks
Pete
