and i did so,,,
it done some sort of test PCI SCAN COMPLETE was in it as thats all i saw cos it was so fast
and now i get this message whilst the recovery disk is in
"the file RETTEN.EXE is missing in the original directory,
if the file has been deleted this recovery is not available any more,
if the RETTEN.EXE file has been moved to another directory or drive
you have tostart the recovery manually
then a letter A:\>- the line starts blinking

That prompt means it is waiting for a command and pointed at the A:\ drive, usually the floppy.
Which operating system do you use? Windows 95, 98, XP or other?
Seems like a Medion PC running windows XP. Try looking at this thread.

I hope you will understand me because I'm French and my English is so poor.
I have the same problem to recovery!! with this message:
"The file RETTEN.EXE is missing in the original directory. If the file has been deleted this recovery procedure is not available any more. If the RETTEN.EXE file has been moved to another directory or drive you have to start the recovery manually
A:\>"
I saw that you fixed your computer, please could you tell what did you do?
Thank you to help me, because in the forums in France they don't have the answer for this problem.
Regards,

Medion machines typically have a recovery partition on the hard disk. If you deleted stuff on it, deleted it altogether or if you replaced the hard disk, the recovery boot CD will stop working. |
