| Help: Usb is being Picky on what it lets run!!:P
Hey guys,
i have 2 USB at the back of my PC, which i run a printer and mouse from.
however if i unplug the printer and try to use a Portable HD for example, it wont work, same with my mobile phone.. i have the drivers etcc installed..
however it just doesnt let them run...
dont know how else i can explain it:P
when you usually plug in a USB Device it goes Doo Doo! (2 sounds)
when i plug in the other devices it goes dun dun dun (3 beep sort of sounds)
i plug the device into my brothers pc and works fine, anyone have any ideas??

Are you using the "safely remove" function before removing the printer?

Does it fix things when you try and use it? |

Plug in the hard drive and go to your Device Manager under Control Panel>System. Do you see any yellow ! or red X on the external HDD's icon? |

Plug it in.......Go to My computer and see if the external drive is listed there. It may be installed already and simply not re-installing what is there. I have seen that before. I have one PC that does that. The drive doesn't seem to be initializing, but I can go to my computer and access it with no problem.

Try this pathway...........
My computer
control panel
Add hardware
next
yes I have already connected the hardware
A list should pop up and you may find your hard drive and phone on it.
I would have them hooked up when I did this.
If it is there
you may just need to install it from that list........as long as the drivers are in place.
It can and will also search the net for the drivers, I think.
