I'm still having problems with my fresh install of WinXP Home. For some reason, and just in the last couple of days, my printer (an HP 8250 Photosmart) won't print from a browser. The printer itself seems to be fine; I can print a test page, and I can print from applications like WordPerfect. But if I try to print a page using either Firefox 2 or IE 6, nothing happens.
The printer shows that the print job is there, but it never completes. I don't get an error message saying that the print job failed. Repeated attempts just stack up the jobs. Attempting to pause and resume a job fails to get it to print.
What's up, and how can I fix this?

I have a HP 8450 that when i print from FF it seems to take a while and sometimes just hangs with what you are having problems with. Still researching for a fix though.

My first guess would be that maybe the info from the website is not getting passed.
If you're using the default Windows Firewall, try disabling and then print a web page.

Actually, I'm using ZoneAlarm Security Suite. But it just upped my protection level automatically a day or so ago, and that may be the cause. |

You may need to add the Print Spooler as an exception. |

There is a known issue with HP Printers. Check the HP site for updated driver or work-around.

Looks like it was ZoneAlarm; I gave the printer server a higher trust value and it prints again. |
