Display and or Driver issues!

Hey all!

I took my computer apart about a week ago and gave it a good dusting as temps were higher than normal for this time of year. Nothing out of the ordinary routine.

However, when I went to boot it back up, it took me 3 times to get back "stable" into windows. Sometimes it won't even boot up properly. And even so, it seems as if there are no drivers installed. As if I just installed the card (x800pro) and its running without ati drivers. The screen for example, when scrolling down on browsers is taking it step by step and is not a smooth transition.

I've gone so far as to get driver cleaner out clean up all the old stuff, and reinstall the latest drivers from Ati. Seemed to work, after one restart, but then the next its back to the same old thing. I've tried multiple drivers, even omega and they all seem to work initially then drop off as if none were installed.

This is really bothering me to because I have no idea what could be causing this and I've been on these forums for a whiles now and i've seen nothing similar to my problem.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

System specs are as follows:

2.8ghz p4 (was @ 3.2ghz forever, but I put it back to stock to make sure everything is ok)
2gb pc3200 (was overclocked as well, but now in spec)
X800pro 16pipes enabled (was overclocked as well, but now at stock speed)
1x raptor 74gb 10k rpm sata, 1x 120gb 7200rpm IDE
FSP 400w psu, and various other odds and ends

You know, I may have bumped the video card at worst.. I didn't think of trying to reseat it, maybe it is loose and causing it to act as if it was just reinstalled...

I just removed fans and redid some wiring, didn't pull anything apart besides that.

Thanks for the reply, much appreciated

do the same w/ the system memory.. those suckers are easy to shimmy out of place.. yet allow the system to boot but they act funny.

Already tried that originally.

However, it seems reseating the gpu seems to have helped. Maybe I knocked it out of the socket slightly? Didn't seem like I did. Ah well.

Thanks for the help! Much appreciated!
