touchpad doesnt respond compaq nc6000

seeking help to fix the touchpad that is notresponding. the most embarrasing thing is it work once in a week or two for a minute or two and stops functioning again. any help will be appreciated.

It's prolly a flaky connection inside the computer. Sometimes the little ribbon cables get jarred loose from moving the computer around a lot.

Problem is, it will most likely require disassembling the computer to reconnect the cable, and if my experience with Compaqs is any indication, that will be a b*tch to do.
