You need to provide as much information as possible...

1) What operating system?
2) Are you certain the drive isn't dead?
3) Have you tried it on a different pc?

And when you tried it on other pc's -> What happens?

Some of them have a write protect switch. If it's got one, make sure it wasn't accidentally set to on.
