Ok so i just got a gateway laptop on tigerdirect for my birthday/graduation.
ive been installing some of my programs, photoshop, autocad, that sort of thing.
It has a built-in wireless card or whatever, and it recognizes my SBC wireless router and all that. i have had it workign and online for the past couple days. Sometimes the internet cuts out, and i lose my instant messenger connection, and its just a pain when i have to refresh webpages because of it. it only stays disconnected for like 10 seconds though. The reception is fine too, usually 4 to 5 out of 5 bars. A few of my friends who have gotten laptops and have wireless connections also have had the same cutting out issue that i have had, and they are different brand laptops too.
SO i figured hmm maybe i will try to install the SBC wireless software so it will configure it through there instead of by itself with the internal program its got.
I install it, but when it restarted itself, i got logged on as usual, and all the desktop came up along with the taskbar. about 5-8 seconds after i see the stuff, the desktop disappears, so does the taskbar. i tried ending some of the processes that i knew of, like my mp3 software and AIM and stuff. I did not see Explorer.exe on there though, which i figured it wouldnt be on there.
I can log it on safe mode and stuff, and i did, and deleted every SBC thing i could find when i was on administrator AND my account.
So id like some help on restoring my explorer and maybe if someone has had the same internet connection issues, that i could get help with that as well. but i cant do anything without explorer
thanks for any help!!
