| Disk Boot Failure, Insert System Disk with raid
Hello, I have a PC running windows xp prof sp.2, i have recently gotten an error message in dos mode saying, Disk boot failure, insert systme disk. I tried resseting the jumpers and i configured the raid settings for hdd 1 and 2, since my 3rd is seperate so that is disabled, only hdd 1 and 2 have raid enabled. correct? becuz they are the ones combined virtually. My boot priority is 1 removabe, 2 hard disk, 3 cd rom, I am able to run the windows cd but i do not want to reformat my pc, what am i supposed to do cuz i have done all these things and still have this problem. (Disk boot failure, insert system disk). |

Welcome to TechIMO
What were you doing and or why where you in DOS Mode?
What happens when you try to boot Windows?
Are you setup with Raid 1 or 0? |

Well im not sure it was dos mode actually, i was starting windows and when you are booting your pc u get all those codes ad readings of your pc bios,, the night befor i used my pc it was working fine, but now it is as if my hard drives had been dammaged, i have gotten this message befor by lossing power from thunder storms and such.. this is the problem.. but i have safely removable hard drives, 2x160 gb seagate sata, 1x80 gb seagate, im not sure which raid i a using but it is for my 2 160 gb hdd together and my 80 seperate. My hard drives can still retrieve its data becuz it is safely removable deviced and i have done it befor so i do not have to reformat. im sorry im not sure what the diff is between raid 1 and 2 |
