| Does your power supply have to be PCI-E to power a SLI motherboard??
I have a 20pin power supply and my motherboard is SLI 24pin and i dnt know if its powering it correctly becuase it wont start properly. On some sites it says i need to set in bois my 12v supply to 36amp but my power supply says max 30A at 12v on the side. Is that causing my problem? |

I would hazard a guess that you would actually need the missing 4 pin connector. If that's the case, it's time to get a new power supply. ~_~ |

What your seeing is SATA connections on the newer PSU's. Most of the PSU's now-a-days have those, plus some 4 pin molex(ide) plug ins. Depending on how many molex plugs you need, you should be fine with most PSU's.
Most people on this site will recommend FSP. They are built to last, and are a very dependable PSU. Sparkle would be the other brand, it's just the same thing as FSP. You can pick them up for pretty cheap. Tagens are a good quality PSU also..
I myself have this one. And it runs a dual core, with a x1650 pro GPU, and 3 Hard drives and I have had no problems with it yet. |

That OCZ is a very good choice.
I've never heard of any settings in the BIOS to compensate for the power supply.

Yea, running a 20 pin PSU on a 24 pin motherboard can lead to problems. The OCZ will be a great match for your motherboard and video card. |
