| Cant remove Kaspersky Internet security
Hi
I installed Kaspersky Internet security recently and it seriously messed up my PC, every program i opened would crash and the msi installer was corrupt so I couldn't remove it properly via control panel.
eventually had to boot in safe mode, delete every folder with kaspersky and remove every registry entry i could find, ran reg mechanic and a few other scans.
All seems ok, but now have installed Norton System Works Premiere 2007 (no preaching about norton please) and it states that I have kaspersky internet security installed and that i should turn it on!
Have tried finding a KIS 2007 removal tool to no joy, ran the microsoft tool that finds corrupt installations. Dont know what else to try.
any suggestions?
thanks

quite amazed by ccleaner - it found a LOAD of crap that other software missed! |

Here are the removal instructions for KIS, http://usa.kaspersky.com/support/hom...cted_topic_id=
According to that you are not supposed to remove the program using add/remove from the control panel.
Many A/V programs install safeguards so that various malware cannot remove the A/V program that easily. For example by deleting files or running a script.
Per that support page you should use the "Modify, Repair or Remove" listing in the program itself.
You could try and reinstall KIS and then remove it as the support page recommends.
Might work, might not.

thanks
After the nightmare i had when i installed it, im not so keen to reinstall it again. first time i installed it, i couldn't remove it via add/remove. but you're right - might be my only option
I just wish it had its own removal tool like norton does |
