upgrading problem

I am trying to upgrade a system. I have new asus motherboard, intel quad processor. I got everything setup, ready to start up. when I turn on the power, fans and light all on, no video, the power shut down after 30 seconds or around. I tried another processor, same result. looks like problem is not processor. it might be motherboard.

can anybody tell me what is wrong and how to solve the problem.

Did you plug in all the powercables?

Try reseating your RAM or video card.

Also, hat is the brand and model of your power supply?

yes. i made sure 2 power connector are connected correctly.

i did reset cmos. i took ram out and back in.

still no good.
