regarding how to obtain drivers.. IMO, don't use a wizard/tester or a "driver download" website or anything like that. Especially for anything nvidia, as they have a "Download Drivers" link directly accesible on their homepage. just determine the exact model of hardware that you have (like geforce 7600 GT or whatever) and visit the manufacturers website directly to download the drivers they have available. just make sure to select the one that matches your operating system (e.g. device/hardware manufacturers tend to have ones specific for the 64-bit versions of windows, and separate ones for newer operating systems like vista).
basically, just check the manufacturer's website for each piece of hardware directly.
