Question SATA II Drive and Plextor DVDRW IDE

what i want to know is are these two compatible.

I recently installed a Maxtor SATA II 320GB HD (works great no problems)
I also have a Plextor Turboplex PX-800A DVDRW Drive which is working fine but the software CD that it came with will not open (when it does open i dont see anything on the disc).
i have been trying to open it so i can install Easy Creater 9 which came with the drive when i bought it.

I then moved its connection to IDE1 and then it recognized the PX-800A but it still wont open the CDROM.

I have no problem burning my backup movies so i know the drive is working fine.

i also am having a problem finding a firmware update for the PX-800A DVDRW drive and the plextor website or a google search has been no help.

OK after all that is said what i also want to know is:
Is it ok to have both the SATA II HD installed and have the DVDRW IDE drive installed

Yes. I have a Seagate 250GB SATA II drive and an IDE LG DVD burner living happily together.

Do you have the same reading problem with any other CDs?

Sounds like a problem with that particular CD then.

As for your sound problem, have you checked in your sound properties to make sure that the CD input is not muted and the slider is up?

    Not reading its Plextor DVD

Hi, I am having the same problem. So far, it is 2 dvd's that it will not open, the one with Easy creator and Farcry 2. If you find an answer, email me.
