ABIT Mobo Boot Error.

Just built my machine about a week ago, having no problems so far (once i got rid of Vista) except for now. I have an ABIT motherboard, and since last night it will not boot unless there is a bootable CD in the drive. It'll do the whole "press any key to boot from CD or DVD". If i don't hit anything it'll skip it and boot into windows. If there is no disk in the drive it will pop up shortly after scanning the CDROM and say BOOTMGR Not Found, Press CTRL-ALT-DEL to restart.

A friend of mine also has an ABIT motherboard and his is doing the same thing.

I tried googling the error message and ABIT motherboard boot error and got nothing pertaining to my problem. Any ideas?

I'll assume you've installed XP, though you didn't mention your motherboard model no: either.

Also How did you remove Vista?

If you have a copy of XP boot from the cd and go into the recovery console(by pressing R), once in there you can type "Help" for a list of commands, the command your looking for is FIXMBR, this will set your Memory Boot Record back to boot a single OS(namely XP). Looks like you have a bootmanager installed that isn't correctly locating your Boot.ini file or other associated files the OS needs to start up.

I'm not sure how Vista handles the boot process so maybe that's screwed with the MBR but if your trying to multiboot the order in which you install each OS is very important.
