I just purchased a new processor for this bare bones uniwell notebook shell i got. When i turn it on it tell m the following....
************Warning Unknown Processor *************
The processor(s) installed in your system are not known by the BIOS.
Please contact your BIOS vendor for appropriate updates
Fatal error... System Halted
Obviously i need to update my bios..... problem is i cannot find the correct bios for this uniwell. Here is some information on it....
Personal Computer
Model No: 258KA5
SZS258KA543500398
Supports Amd Mobile
ATI Mobility Radeon 9700
How od i go about installing this, it won't even let me go into bios to see exactly what i all have, just automatically goes to the system halted error. |

Doesn't seem to be working, is it possible that the front side busses are differnt thus i am gettign this error. Currently the bios version is 1.04 so i don't even know if there is a more current one.... |

There is no front side bus on AMD, hence no mismatch possible there.
No need for guesses anyway, the BIOS is telling you plain and clear what's wrong - CPU not supported. Put the old CPU back in, and then try booting off a DOS formatted USB floppy drive for the update. |

thats the thing i don't have another processor. Is it possible that since this is 64bit the motherboard may only support a 32bit version? |
