if the locking lever on the heatsink flips in the off position
should be able to twist and turn the CPU from the
heatsink because only the paste is holding it in place |

Is the HSF plugged into the correct fan header? If it isn't, the motherboard won't detect a fan and will shut off the system.

Yes, it's plugged into the correct fan header, the one labeled "CPU_FAN" here.
I did notice something interesting. I accidentally forgot to plug in the 4pin ATX 12v connector and when I powered on the computer, the computer stayed on. Nothing came on the screen of course but it stayed on.. If that means anything to anyone.
Another update: When I try to open the CD drives while the computer is on, it won't let me unless I hit them at the precise moment; or just spam the button. When they do open, they open about halfway before automatically closing again. Does this mean the computer is going through some kind of infinite loop when I power it on?

Hi there...
My guess is that you got a bum board. It's happened to me a couple times this year actually. One of them did the exact same thing that is happening to you. It took me a bit to figure it out myself, but when the replacement board got here, everything worked fine.
May try that... |

Well, how do I RMA the board? I've never had to do that before. |

The CDROM issue is likely normal. If the drives are being accessed by the bios, sometimes they will not respond to the eject button.
As far as RMAing the board, visit the manufacturers website, the info should be there. |

Well, I bought a new motherboard. Same exact thing. EVERY VITAL PART IN THIS COMPUTER IS NEW. This absolutely boggles my mind. I've tried different outlets so far, and same thing. The processor is secured fine, everything is plugged in as it should. I honestly don't know what's going on.
Actually, now the computer WON'T EVEN START AT ALL.

Here's something I have considered: maybe the power button is not working? MAybe the connection the button made is loose or, after all the knocking around and moving I did to the case and adding new parts, maybe the connection became looser and now doesn't connect it all? I have replaced all the vital parts, to be honest, it's the only thing that really makes sense now. If this is the case, how do I go about fixing the connection or replacing it? |

which mobo did you buy ?,wasn't mention
sometimes wires move a lot break at the connector worth checking
make sure the selector switch for power [115/220] is firmly
at the 115 position ...make sure unplug at AC first
use multimeter that you are getting AC than with PC on check your
DC voltage
i'm sure you did this but ...
also check AMD that the board you brought is comparable with
that processor [ its on their site ]
and good luck |
