I think its time for a upgrade..
This is my specs : http://support.gateway.com/s/PC/R/4364/4364sp3.shtml
But i have now a 7950gt and a new psu unit, i think is 400w.
What do i get rid of and replace with it make playing games more enjoyable?
PS: My budget is no more than $400Last edited by neo7333; October 27th, 2007 at 11:02 PM.

Since thats an old p4 and running ddr ram you'd basically be better of scrapping it all and starting with a new build. The 7950 gt is no slouch so you could keep that and add a new motherboard cpu and a couple gigs of ram.

Do you still have 1gb of RAM? Upgrading to 2gb (adding 2x512mb if you have 4 slots) can help smooth some games if they are paging to the swap file. I think a new GPU would under perform, being bottlenecked by your CPU.

Are you kidding me DDR is 2 series old now we are moving up to DDR3 and beyond

With what he has there, the cost/performance of upgrading he's be better off going with a new board, cpu and ram. For the cost of 1 gig of DDR you can get 2 of DDR2, no to mention he's probably already at the cpu limits of that board.Last edited by RicheemxX; October 28th, 2007 at 12:05 AM.

so DDR 400 3200 ram, like I have, is obsolete, and I should probably upgrade it?

I hate upgrades. To me, it is all just a market gimmicks.
I need to upgrade mine too
