    Noob Intel driver question

     
    So this is the first Intel build iv done for years. Have an Asus P5K and would like to install Vista x64 with the SATA controller in AHCI mode. What drivers do I need to do this? Intel's site sux IMO.

    You would do the same steps regardless which CPU you have.
    Install Vista - pop in cd that came with the mobo.
    Imagine a world where dogs took bad owners to the pound...

    AHCI is a unified, generic programming model for SATA host interfaces. It was conceived to exactly NOT need vendor specific drivers - and Vista natively brings a generically useful AHCI driver.
