lcd monitor problem

working fine until this morning

then........ the display went bright white all over. it didn't flash just faded to bright white and stayed like that. i switched the monitor off and back on and all was ok. then after a few seconds it happened again.

next i rebooted the pc - this time a 1.5" strip was missing from the rhs of the display - ie that strip was black whereas the rest of the screen was normal. this black strip occured even during the post screens and the msft spash screen.

the display is fine on two different monitors tried on that same pc.

so. any ideas as to what might be causing the problems on the malfunctioning monitor?

It looks like your monitor is having some kind of malfunction, i suggest to take it to the store to have it check if you are still under warranty, that is maybe your best shot at it

Doddsy, the LCD cable (sometimes referred to as the signal connector) is the first item to check. The LCD will be white when there is no signal to the panel. You may need to disassembe the base to locate this.

i tried a different cable and a different pc but the problem persists.
