hi all,i am having problems with a pro 6100,i know so is everbody.have striped it down on doing so have found a wire that wos not conected to anythink.this wire is brown in colour, and wos on top off cooling fan its connection is a push on type ,can not find where this goes.going by the lenth of cable it must fit around the heatsink area but can not find a connection of this type [same as airal for wireless card].can any body help many thanks steve10

Course it's possible it shouldn't be hooked up to anything. Shouldn't as in it might get hooked up to an option you don't have.

What is the original problem that drove you to take it apart?

Can you verify if it uses a Hirose U.FL connector? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hirose_U.FL

Many laptops have a wifi/bluetooth 2.4GHz antenna already installed, but lack the mini PCI wifi card. You can easily add wifi and/or bluetooth functionality by just installing the mini PCI card and attaching the coax cable which goes up to the antennas mounted on the lid.
