Hi Folks,
I was getting messages that my pc wasnt running at USB 2.0... so i deleted the usb stuff... reboooted so it would reinstall the drivers... that didnt' work.
my sandisk 4gb micro cruzer said, u removed the device safely yadda yadda, be carefull next time message.... i said to myself ok sure...
so i read that my 2.0 settings in bios probably are disabled... i go and re-enable boot back up. try to get to my device and its blank and not autodetecting properly...(even though i had data on it)
i think, meh probably just a reboot will fix... so i reboot at i get "USB Device not Recognized. One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it"...
i think oh great pc is wack... so i try deleting the drivers in windows... reboot... they reinstall ... same message. i decide meh ill switch the bios back... working slow usb is better then not working usb... i reboot and still get the message....
i try checking on my laptop. same message.
try my sisters new laptop, same message...

is the drive dead? can it be fxed? i just baught it... i had sensative data on it. should i exchange it? what about my data? is it safe to say it wont be read?

Note: I looked around the web... this isnt one of those unplug system fixes ... as it seems thumb drive related.
Note: other devices work on the ports....
Note: If the drive is dead, can i somehow garanty the files are deleted on it?
I have a feeling i'm screwed.
