dell inspiron e1505 Screen issues

Hi,


The screen on my dell inspiron e1505 has basically gone out,, Dell support and I concluded that the screen is broken. However when the sun hit the screen I can faintly see something borders of stuff. Ive fiddled with all brightness options and such, no luck.

Hooking it up to another monitor works fine, the display is normal on the attached monitor. So it is the Laptop's screen.

No what are my options, I have no warranty, I feel comfortable enough in doing any replacing or repairing of parts. Is the screen shot, or is something like the back lighting broke?

I'm having problems finding reputable online stores that sell replacement screens, or even sites that have articles on screen.

Any thoughts?
