I just bought an AK-R8 surround sound headset. It has a 5.1 jack from the headset to the external USB sound card, and then a USB cable from the card to the computer. It has a microphone that is detachable from the headset.
With the microphone attached, I can hear my own voice through the headset, but my computer doesn't recognize any signal. Ive tried Audacity, Teamspeak, Ventrillo and the Turtle Beach control panel, and none of them pick up a signal.
Ive already checked for driver updates and made sure that in the Control Panel > Sounds and Audio that Sound Recording and Voice recording are set to Audio Advantage SRM Device, which is the sound card. Ive also made sure that in the record settings is set to microphone. Ive also tried switching USB ports still nothing.
Im not sure what is happening, anyone with any ideas of how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.
