Please help Monitor takes a while to come on when booting

I was wondering why my monitor takes a while to come on when I turn on my computer. It's about a 10-15 second delay. enough to make people in my office believe the computer is not turning on. There is power to the monitor but I have a yellow light. It isn't until after the delay that the light becomes green and I get my display.
Please help me determine what the issue might be? Is it the system board, BIOS configuration or video card? I'm not sure and can really use the help asap.

Thank you!

When you start your computer there is a sequence of what devices the computer starts to power. The problem may be that your graphics card which turns your monitor on is not up on the list very high thus it starts a little later than all the internal components (CD drives, hard drives etc.). If you go into the BIOS by pressing [DEL] or whatever the designated key by your manufacturer is, you should be able to put you monitor up higher on the device boot list. Hope this helps although I don't exactly see the big deal in waiting 10-15 secs but w/e floats your boat.
