| Nero 8 burn process failed - PLease help! Error log included
If someone could help me I would really appreciate it! I have been using nero for a few years. I recently went from Nero 6 to Nero 8 because for some reason, when I try to burn DVDs I keep getting "burn process failed" errors. It will let me burn music cds fine with no problem. Here is my most recent error log when attempting to burn. If anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it!!!!!
The error long is attached because it is too long to fit in this box |

I would guess that the DVD burning laser is going dead...I had something like that happen to me once and I got all coasters for about 5-10 burns, then just went out and bought a new one. |

hi,
ive had this error with nero 8 before. i went as far as replacing the dvd-rw as i thought it had gone bad.
after replacing the dvd-rw and finding i was still getting the same error i worked out that it was bad media! (the blank dvd+r had been made incorrectly so that the lazer was slipping off the disc, giving me the error)
basically.. try a different brand of disc before you go replacing things you never know |

Or another program like Deepburrner. You can also burn data to the disk using Windows, no program required. Just double click the drive to open and paste the files. Look to the left, top where is says "write these files to CD". If you are burning an .iso or some other complex copulation, then Windows won't help you there. But if you simply want to burn backups of data, or synchronize a briefcase (Providing the media is CD/RW), then the Windows option could be quit suitable. |

I currently have a DVD burner that will still burn CD's fine but fail on DVD's... Sounds like it's on it's way out to me. With the price of DVD burners being dirt cheap, I'd just replace it. It's not even worth going to the store to buy different media and find out that isn't the problem.

I've been a NERO user for several years. I tried out NERO 8 and got the same burn problems with DVDs. I went back to NERO 7 and will remain there until they update NERO 8.

With * the only time I get this error is when I use the wrong mode to burn with. Try a different mode?

ive only noticed this problem when try to burn a lot of movies to a dvd...after wasting tons of disc, ive noticed that, most writer would only accept dvd+ and not the minus...also, this is ONLY a problem with the disc..if you can, go for Verbatim or Sony and when burning, select only the speed of 8X. |
