| Phenom computer build, won't turn on.
I'm building a new computer and got everything installed and it won't turn on. Anyone have any ideas? Here are the components: Phenom 9500 CPU, 4GB 800mhz ram, Elitegroup A770M-A motherboard, 450W atx power supply. I tried a 300W power supply and it still didn't turn on. The fans spin for a second when I turn the switch on the back of the power supply off.

First off, welcome to TIMO!
What's the make model of your PSU's?
Is the system installed in the case already?
Are you sure you have all the power cables hooked up properly, including the 4 pin aux power cable?
Are you sure you have the front panel switches hooked up properly?
If all the checks out good, then pull the system out of the case. Set it on something non conductive. Keep the CPU installed, install one stick of RAM. Video, if you have onboard, just use that for the time being. And obviously, hook up the power supply to the board. Short out the pins for the on/off switch, see if it fires up. If so, more then likely you have a grounding issue. Maybe a extra riser you don't need.
Check all that, then report back.. |

Rx-450k is the power supply. I took the motherboard out and hooked up the power supply with 1 stick of memory. Which are the pins I should short? PWR-SW_P and PWR-SW_N? |

That's the positive and negative. You should stick a screwdriver(or whatever) and touch both of those pins. It *should* at least post, or give you error beeps. Which will help some at this point.. |

It didn't do anything when I touched those 2 pins together but the fans started spinning when I touched RST_SW_N to PWR_SW_P. |

Not when I go by the pinout in the mother board manual. |

I'm having the same problem with an Elitegroup mb. What did you do to resolve your problem? |
