| X1650XT and ASRock P4VM890 compatibilty prob?
Hello everyone,
A few weeks ago I got my new GeCube X1650XT PCIe Pro gamer edition
(This card does'nt have an external power connection to the PSU)
Everything worked flawlessly for a couple of weeks..
One day I turned off my computer and when I turned it back on the monitor did'nt get any signal from the graphics card.
Replaced the card for a new one and got the same problam
Configured the primary GPU as the PCIe in the BIOS - din'nt work..
Did a BIOS update - did'nt work..
Right now I'm working with the onboard card
Ran out of ideas
Please help =\ |

Hi there, Welcome to TIMO.
Do you have another system to test the card in?
Also, do you have another GPU to test on the AsRock board?
Also, check to make sure the card is fully inserted into the AGP slot. I've done that before, was just barely out, and it caused it not to work.
Try these, and post back. |

Hi, thanks for the replay
Unfortunately, I don't have access to another system or GPU at the moment..
I made sure the card is fully inserted into the PCIe slot
Also, the card's fan is working and the computer isn't beeping for errors
I don't think it's booting\POSTing at all |

Hmm..
well in that case it leads me to believe either your PSU isn't up to the task, even though you don't have a cable going to it, that could still cause it.
OR, it could be a bad GPU.
Have you reset you bios?
Maybe try that, if not.
Other then that, It would have to be you board.
I know that's not much help, just thinking out loud... |

Sorry I'm not more help.
It always hard when you don't have another system to test parts on. I've been there.. |

I have the same mobo (ASRock P4VM890).. -not a very good board, by the way.
For a long time my brother has been using an ATI x1050 on it (PCIe).. and that works.. but recently after upgrading one of my other machines, I gave up an x1650 for my brothers P4VM890 to adopt.. and same deal you got.. no signal.. nothing.. no POST.. no beeps.. all fans run though.
Just like buddy said.. either there's simply not enough power applied or the mobo currently doesn't support ATI's Radeon x1600 series... or at least the 1650.
so.. i'd just hang in there.. keep in touch with asrock..
just because most companies dont support much socket478 platform products, doesn't mean asrock has completely given up on there p4vm890.. i think its there only 478/pcie mobo.. except for the weird 478/PD/DDR2/PCIe mobo they came up with.. forget what its called meh
