| DVD burner won't burn DVD but burns CDs
I have a Sony DRU-500 DVD +/- RW. It has the most up to date firmware(2.1a). It stopping being able to write DVD in both video and data format. I tried different file types, and different discs. It just gets an error when I try to burn.
CDs will burn perfectly though.
Is there a way to fix this or is the DVD part broken? |

See if this helps :
1. Go to Start, Run
2. Type in: regedit then click OK
3. Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
4. Look in right pane and find the Upper Filter and Lower Filter entries.
5. Right click on each and select Delete.
6. Close regedit and reboot
