5.1 Sound on computer

I just bought a new sound card for my computer and I have a 5.1 speaker set. I would like to get 5.1 on my music (Windows Media Audio 9.2 Lossless), but it doesn't work. I have the Soundblaster Audigy 5.1 card, and I have put the settings to 5.1 AND I also put CMSS - 3D on, and it STILL isnt working.

Any Ideas? Could it be that I am using Vista? Although I thought the drivers would have been updated by now, and on the box it says compatible with vista.....

does your MB have integrated sound?

try to disable the integraded audio in your BIOS then

reinstall the card/Drivers

could be, Vista & Creative's Drivers, despite what Creative says, their drivers are still crap for Vista... especially if this is an older Audigy card, the only ones that i have heard of that actually do work decently, although not perfect, is the newer X-Fi series, the older Audigy1/2 & 4 series was left in the dust basically with the release of Vista.
