if you were playing with High settings in Vista, you should have no problem running the game maxed out in XP... its probably one of the two I mentioned above, either DirectX isn't updated to absolute latest version (which was a problem I had running the BF2142 demo a year or so back, & heard similar problems with some with BF2), or if your running an AMD X2 CPU, running the Dual Core Optimizer might iron out some problems... |
Unfortunately, i have an intel dual core and have just updated directx 9 but, no luck. I'm thinking the problem maybe started around the time before i moved to XP when i was preparing. I changed something in my bios to IDE and had everything but battlefield 2 running smoothly. I tried the obvious and changed it back but that led to the blue screen of death. I changed it back and my OS was running fine, but still no luck for battlefield 2.
I have other games like counterstrike and half life 2 running fine so I'm not sure what the problem seems to be.
