So I've got this Toshiba M45-2692 laptop that is now giving me issues.
First, sometimes at startup the screen is distorted, only about 3/4 of the screen is shown. Secondly, sometimes the computer will not boot at all or will not even restart. It also wont "wake up" while it is on hibernate mode. (I know there must be something up with the ACPI on this machine) I've also flashed the BIOS to the most recent update. The touchpad is also inoperable. I've thrown in the restore CD to try and fix the issue to no avail. I've also updated all the hardware drivers and still no go. I also received a 0X57 Fatal Error code. I have replaced the RAM Chips and also upgraded the Hard Drive with a new OEM Toshiba drive. I'm suspecting to believe that this is caused by a defective southbridge chip on the mobo, but I'm not sure yet. Any thoughtful input would be real helpful.
