When I go to print in color, the black and white stuff will come out but not the color. I did the test sheet, and the black bar graph prints but none of the color. I mean, it does not print the color in black and white, it just totally omits them from the image or document. If you printed a red font it would not show up. It is a cannon ipixima3000 or something like that. |

Have you gone into the printer properties to make sure the color is "turned on" or selected?

I have color turned on, I am not retarded, and although I worded it poorly, I stated it does not print the color part of images in black and white mode, and I would not ask as stupid of a question if it were out of ink.
If you type a sentence at top of page in black text, and one in bottom in say yellow or any color, it prints the black words, then shoots the paper out, no attempt or pause even on the color. I've determined the printer head is just dead. Time for a new printer, definitley not a cannon one this time. |

Nobody here insinuated that you were stupid. We all make those little mistakes that often get overlooked.
It could very well be a bad print head. Are they that expensive that's it more cost effective to buy a new printer?
That is odd that it wont print the color parts while it's in black and white mode.
I was going to suggest when starting the print and the printer window pops up, double check the settings in there to make sure it's set in black and white mode and not color, but I didn't want to insult you again.

Sounds like the inkjets are dried up and clogged. How often do you use this printer?

1. make sure its not more cost effective to just buy a replacement print head.
2. Don't be so quick to diss Canon. They make phenomenal machines, I can't really think of a better company that makes better printers in terms of quality.

I did deap head cleaning cycle three times, and checked the pads on the ink cartridges and they are still wet. I don't suppose you can clean out clogged ink jets can you? |

You could try gently wiping/patting the cartridge with a wet soft cloth or paper towel. I did that once with a black cartridge that was a bit clogged. |

Tried the paper towel thing, yeah they are pretty crusty, and it is in the printer to where they sit. Printers are getting as cheap as vcr's now anyways...just going to buy a new one. Preferabbly one that I can print to wirelessly from my lappy. |
