audio problem

i had someone reinstall windows xp and now i cant here anything. i dont have any of the software that came with my pc , but i was told that i might be able to download some software to fix my problem but i dont know how to go about doing that. the pc prompts that i dont have the driver i need. can someone please help me? im so clueless.
i have a gateway E-2000 with windows xp office.

Go to the Gateway web site and click on Support. Next, click on Drivers and Downloads. You can figure it out from there.
