thunb drive no loger working on computer

I have had my thumb drive for a couple of years, it only has resumes saved on it. I never unplug it, it stays in the same spot all the time. I had a friend use my computer today and she took it out without ejecting it(I was told by my teachers that is ok to do, it wont hurt the drive). I went to put it back in the compartment and it is not showing up on the computer that it is connected. I went to close out a resume that I had open and had to save it. I went to save it to the thumb drive and it is not there as an option, its as if my computer not recognizing the drive. I really need to have it work it has ALL my resume's...I NEED IT...PLEASE HELP!!!! IM GOING CRAZY..

Flash drives have a limited lifespan - 10,000-20,000 read/writes. After that, they just die.

Any critical data needs to be stored in two places at any one time for proper backup. It's a shame that everyone seems to have to learn this the hard way.

I'm afraid that you will have to rewrite your resume.
