pc freezing

just in the last week on about three occasions the mouse seems to have frozen and when the mouse button is depressed there is a buzzing sound
????? Is this serious or not - on rebooting all is normal
windows xp home Athlon 64 cpu 1mg ram 2 hard drives 160gb each
nvidia fx5950 ultra graphics card, IE7
any answers appreciated

The buzzing is from the audio circuitry. The PC is freezing and Windows is stuck on a sound that was being generated at the time of the freeze.

Honestly, I would uninstall and reinstall the audio drivers.

I would also give the insides of the PC a good dusting. It may be overheating.
